Dear Parents, Teachers and Students, Welcome back to another exciting year of learning at MERC Chinese School凱風中文學校. The 2018-2019 school year begins on Saturday, 9/8 at the Hayward Adult School (HAS) campus. The campus will open at 8:30 am, and the classes will begin at 8:45 am. We also wish to announce that due to health reasons, Principal Wu will leave the principal's position and take the post of the Treasurer this year. We sincerely wish Principal Wu a very speedy recovery. Meanwhile, Ms. Connie Ma will assume the position of our Interim Principal. We welcome Principal Ma and extend our deep appreciation to her for her dedication to our school. This staff change takes effect immediately. We wish to keep you updated on the following as well. 1. Please be aware that only fully enrolled students are allowed in their classrooms on the opening day. In order for your child to have an uninterrupted first day of school, if you have not registered your child, please do so as quickly as possible. 2. An enrollment confirmation packet was mailed on 8/20, to the families who have completed the registration. If you have any questions regarding the information enclosed, please feel free to contact us. We are happy to assist. If your child has registered but did not receive the confirmation packet, please contact us as soon as possible. We can be reached by phone, (510) 995- 6675, or by email, [email protected] . 3. Please be reminded, HAS campus is wide spread and composed of several buildings. For your convenience and better security, MERC’s activities will center around Building B. There are doors at both ends of the Building. The HAS Saturday supervisor is housed in Building B and easily accessible. 4. We also want to bring an urgent need to your attention. The post of PTA president is still pending. The PTA president holds a leading role in facilitating many school activities and works closely with the administrative team. We invite you to step forward to direct or co-direct the PTA this year. Please let us know if you are interested in taking this most rewarding post. We will greatly appreciate your timely support. 5. We want to thank the teachers for their efforts in preparing for their classes during summer. Their class assignments for the 2018-2019 school year are as follows. Such a positive feedback from parents is a confirmation to our school administration team. Come and learn more about us. Hope to see you all on the Open House day tomorrow!  Kai-Feng Chinese School will hold its open house on Saturday, 4/28/2018.
You're cordially welcomed to pay a visit between 9am and 12noon to take a look at how children learn to speak and write in Chinese. We'll present students' class/home work in a banner paper and post the banner paper in B Hall to showcase student learning achievements. On this day, you may observe classrooms and you'll see students' works. Location: Hayward Adult School, Building B 22100 Princeton Street Hayward, CA 94541 四月廿八日，星期六早上 9-12時，學校開放參觀日，歡迎您！ What can you do while waiting for your child to finish his/her Chinese classes? How about sipping aromatic morning coffee and creating an enjoyable painting? Once a month, an art class designed for MERC parents and friends will be offered. Next class will be held on Saturday, 3/3, from 9 to 10:30 am, in Room B12. We encourage everyone to come join us. We will be drinking coffee and doing an acrylic painting on 3/3. A class fee of $25 will be charged to cover the necessary material expenses.
