We are happy to announce that Mrs. Wenny Wallace will join us as the new teacher for the C1A class starting Saturday, January 26, 2013. Mrs. Wallace is a highly trained professional and accomplished teacher of Chinese language and culture.
Mrs. Wallace was a teacher for seven years in China and a Chinese tutor for five years in Germany. For the past three years, she has been a Working Parent at Castro Valley Parent Nursery School, a co-op preschool in the community. Her husband is an art director at a packaging company. Mrs. Wallace and her husband live in Castro Valley with their two children. Let's extend a warm welcome to Mrs. Wallace. Dear Parents, Teachers and Students,
The New Year 2013 is about to begin. As I reflect upon the year 2012, I am amazed by all the tasks accomplished by everyone at MERC, as a team. First of all, I want to express my deep appreciation to Principal Wu and all of the teachers for their time and effort in integrating digital technology into teaching and in helping students learn more effectively. We are grateful for their devotion and dedication. Furthermore, our outstanding PTA and staff made it possible for our teaching to reach beyond our classrooms! This year, we presented a MERC Art Show with Hayward Arts Council from May to June. In August, MERC attended Hayward Street Festival to publicize our school in the community. In September, MERC Chinese School relocated to Stonebrae Elementary School and began a partnership with the hosting school. In October and November, MERC attended two community events to showcase Chinese culture and language. In December, MERC collaborated with Chinese American Abacus Association to conduct an abacus math workshop introducing the abacus skills to Stonebrae teachers and parents. Our PTA and staff deserve a round of applause for their coordination in ensuring the success of the above named events. All of the events have been posted on our new school website by our dedicated webmaster and the photography team. Please take time to enjoy these wonderful pictures by our “tech experts”. www.HaywardChineseSchool.org As we end 2012 with a thankful heart, together, we begin the new 2013 with the hope of new opportunities and accomplishments. Have a happy and prosperous NEW YEAR! Warmly, Diana Kuo -- Diana Kuo, Ph.D. Founder & CEO Multicultural Education Research Center |
