Hayward Kai-Feng Chinese Schoool has been chosen by Overseas Community Affairs Council, Republic of China (Taiwan) to become the first Digital Learning Centre located in the east bay. The learning centre's mission is to provide necessary training for instructors to better equip with digital resources and computer knowledge in the field of Chinese education.
During the summer, our teachers are picking up skills to better apply information technology toward chinese learning for our students. On July 6, our teachers got together and learn about how an open-source Course Management System can let educators create virtual classrooms for Chinese learning, how to upload multimedia class materials, as well as taking a look of some backend virtual classroom management tools. This is the second year since we adopted Moodle as an experiment for moving some part of our Chinese school into the cloud.
