Chinese Yoyo Class | 扯鈴班Chinese yoyo (diabolo, 扯鈴) can be directly translated as Pulling Bell - to use a piece of string to pull a bell shaped toy back and forth. An easier and more communicable translation can be referred to as Chinese yoyo. Chinese yoyo is one of the physical activities in PE curriculum in China. The purpose of this activity is to facilitate the development of body movements, eye hand coordination, mental concentration. Chinese yoyo is also a good training for team work when more than one players comes involved. It helps people gain good sense of achievement and social interest from peers.
扯鈴是我國的民俗技藝,也是相傳已久的童玩之一。扯鈴在中國大陸也是很風行的民俗運動,各地也有不同的稱呼。因為它以竹木為材料製成,中空,因此在中國北方稱為“空竹”;清代曾與空鐘混稱,俗稱響葫蘆。江南則稱之為扯鈴,也有稱之謂" 天皇皇", 包括另一種類似空竹,但是在地上倒置著轉的叫" 地皇皇" 。外國人則稱扯鈴為“Chinese Yo-Yo"或“Diabolo"。 十八世紀時, 扯鈴傳入英國,頓時英國人迷上這個神奇的小玩意兒。他們稱之為「兩根棍子上的精靈」。 玩法有:
