Dear Parents, Teachers and Students,
It was wonderful to see ALL of you at the 20th Anniversary Celebration last Saturday! Your presence made this event extra special. We want to take the opportunity to recognize the parents who had helped in the planning process for this event. Joy Wu, our PTA president for two terms, played a key role in the planning of the 20th anniversary event and led the 2015 yearbook team. She also coordinated the school activities throughout the 2014-2015 school year. Betty Lin & David Siopack, a wonderful couple, were in charge of the editorial work of the yearbook. Rachil Tam, our PTA fundraising coordinator, was in charge of the design of the 20th anniversary Logo, event flyer and the anniversary souvenir backpack. She also contributed to the yearbook editorial work. We want to give a round of applause to the entire photography and yearbook team - William Chu, May Fung, Stephen Kwok, Betty Lin, Henry Luk, Connie Ma, David Siopack, Rachil Tam, and Joy Wu. Thank you for your tireless and meticulous work throughout the year, and especially in presenting to us the special memory of the 20th year landmark. Thank you, thank you, thank you… to all MERC parents, teachers, and students for working together to make this event a success. Enjoy your summer! See you in September! Sincerely, Diana Kuo and Jane Wu We are excited to share with you the success of our MERC Open House held last Saturday. Although the weather was chilly and rainy, we have received more visiting families than ever before. Thanks to Connie, Director of Outreach, for her efforts in reaching out to the media to promote this event. Many families shared with us that they were aware of this event through KTSF news broadcasting the night before. We were delighted in meeting many families and introducing our school to them. We hope to see many new families join us in the fall when the 2015-2016 school year begins.
Many thanks to Principal Wu, our Master Teacher, Janis Wu, and all of the Chinese and enrichment class teachers, for their efforts in organizing and displaying student works. Those works were impressive and demonstrated the talents among our students. Special thanks go to our Saturday supervisor, May Fung, PTA president, Joy Wu, and all of the volunteer parents for hosting the visitors and answering their questions. Hats off to our photography team, leading by Stephen, William, David… for catching the precious moments. We thank all of the parents who helped spread the word and brought in their friends.
