Dear Parents, Teachers and Students,
Welcome back! We had a busy first day of the school year last Saturday, and thanks to all of the MERC teachers, front desk staff, and volunteer parents, things went very smoothly. Their smiles and helping hands were there to meet every need, including registration, assessment, and volunteer sign-up. We also want to extend our appreciation to all of the MERC families, returning and new, for your participation and help to make our opening day a success. A parent orientation originally scheduled for last Saturday is postponed. The rescheduled date will be announced soon. Due to new registrations and class changes, the following is an enrollment update for each class as of Saturday, 9/9: Saturday, April 29, 2017
Where: Hayward Adult School Campus 22100 Princeton Street, Hayward, CA 94541 When: 9:00 – 10:00 Showing of student work 10:00 – 10:30 Classroom Observation 10:45 – 12:00 School Orientation What: Chinese Language & Culture Enrichment Classes - Mandarin Chinese: Level 1— 8 - Abacus: Beginning through Advanced - Chinese Calligraphy & Brush Painting - Mixed Media Painting - Children’s Craft The annual yearbook cover contest will begin this Saturday, 3/4. The topic for this year’s art work is “The Year of the Rooster”. The Art work needs to be turned in by Saturday, 4/1. A certificate and trophy will be awarded to the top three winners. We look forward to seeing all of the MERC students participate in this contest.

Traditionally, it's a time to bring families and friends together for feasting. For the spirit of the festivity, we will have a delicious luncheon to share at school.
